A proven business leader, Doug Battista serves at Jenny Craig in the role of President of North America Operations, where he leads all direct-to-consumer business for the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, Doug Battista oversees operations for nearly 427 company-owned centers and 111 franchised locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Jenny Craig and Curves currently operates 500 company-owned centers and thousands of franchised locations throughout the world with employees based in U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Spain, France, United Kingdom, and China.
Doug Battista received his Bachelor of Science degree from Niagara University. Determined to excel at his chosen field, Doug Battista pursued further education at the University of Hartford where he received a Master of Science degree in Organizational Behavior. While attaining his graduate degree, Doug Battista assumed his first Human Resources position in the Recruitment department at ARAMARK Corporation.
In addition to ARAMARK and Nestle, Doug Battista has worked with The Walt Disney Company in the Consumer Products Division. In 2000, Doug Battista accepted the role of HR Manager with the Walt Disney Company in California. At Disney, Doug Battista also gained invaluable experience in the area of Change Management by leading the efforts to transition the Company’s Art Classics Business from a vertical to licensed business model.
After this successful stint, Doug Battista returned to ARAMARK in the Uniform Service Division, serving as the Human Resources Director for the Company’s Western Region and Corporate Headquarters. Doug Battista expanded ARAMARK’s roster of employees by increasing minority and female leadership roles. Doug Battista also implemented a number of programs that decreased employee turnover on the management level while managing the company’s West Region HR operations, which spanned 4000 employees and 10 states.
Continuing along his career journey, Doug Battista accepted the role as the HR Director for the Logistics Division at Nestle USA. The Logistic Division is responsible for forecasting, supplying and distributing Nestle’s products throughout the country. From the company’s headquarters in Glendale, California, he gained notice from Nestle leadership by creating a talent planning and assessment program. This turned out to be a leap forward for Doug Battista, as he was asked to lead the development of the Company’s first HR Analytics department.
In 2008, Nestle advanced Doug Battista into the Head of Talent Acquisition. He directed a total of 40 HR professionals in all areas of talent acquisition including recruitment delivery, technology, and branding. In this role, Doug Battista developed the company’s Center-of-Expertise, which now supports 17 commercial and functional divisions nationwide.
A Major League Baseball fan, Doug Battista spends summers rooting on his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Pirates. On nights and weekends, Doug Battista enjoys staying fit through exercise and Yoga. Doug is also a season ticket holder and fan of the Los Angeles Clippers.
